Don't faint!

I'm actually posting before 6 months are up!!!!

I told you I'm going to try to do better. We'll see......

I finished Libby's purple owl costume. I have to do the mask, but this was just too cute not to share!

I'm making Joe a "snunk" costume with a black hoodie. I'll post pictures of them wearing the suits later.

Blessings!

Long time no blogging......

I have no excuse other than I have had times of depression where I did nothing, times of activity where I did stuff and had no time to blog, and times I felt I had nothing to share. Lame, I know.

What's been happening? Lots of fun times with the grands, of course. One started to Kindergarten, one started to Pre-K, and I am enjoying some one on one time with the other two that really hadn't happened before! It's fun to watch their personalities emerge when out of the shadow of their older siblings. Both Mia and Joe talk all the time now. Mia loves to sing.....even sings what she has to say! Joe told me yesterday...."MeMe, I'm here! I love it!"

Rick is enjoying his new 20-hr a week job. Semi-retirement is enjoyable. We have time to take little day trips and time to enjoy life together. He is so much happier and acts like the weight of the world has been lifted off his shoulders. So....in summary, living on less and loving life more is not a bad thing.

I have been knitting and sewing. I found this Bunny Tail yarn at Michaels and it just makes up a real cute and soft scarf. It also knits up quickly. The girls saw me knitting a scarf for myself and went wild over it, so I suspended knitting on mine and have made one for each of them.

As far as stitching goes....

1 ) I have almost completed Joe's WVU quilt top...it is on my list to complete tomorrow as Rick works a 12 hour day. I love how it is turning out. I don't have a picture of it yet....so I guess that gives you something to look forward to.

2) I am wanting to make a Moon Over the Mountain quilt....12" blocks, but have driven myself crazy trying to find the fabrics I want.....or rather make that
deciding what fabrics I want! I wanted the moon to look real so I ordered a gray Moda marble....too dark. I really wanted that moon to glow, yet look like a moon. Next I got the wild idea that Fairy Frost fabric would shine wonderfully....then got a mental picture of the finished product and realized it looked like a lap quilt for Liberace!! So.....I went with a pale gray watercolor.....and I am happy. I'm now ready to cut it out.

3) I made a small bluework wall hanging of a snowman. I knew I was going to have a special visit with a special blogging buddy.....Erin.....so I wanted to have something to give her. It didn't turn out too badly.
Which brings me to yesterday and the wonderful visit with Erin. We have been "acquainted" for 4 years now, so I felt like I already knew her and very much liked her! It turned out to be true for the face to face meeting! She's precious! Cute as a button and such a joy to talk to. We met at a quilt shop first (one that she found that I didn't even know of!!!) and browsed the beautiful fabrics. After that we went to Panera and enjoyed some delicious soup and sandwiches. It was a cool, rainy dreary day so soup was perfect!! She gave me an adorable change purse she made (and I needed) as well as a beautiful table runner she had made. We pretty much gabbed nonstop the time we were together, and look forward to our next opportunity to visit! We are going to make sure it isn't another 4 years!
So, I know this was a long post, but I had a lot of time to make up for!! I'll try to do better!

Blessings,
Becky
