Time out for fun.....

Today was a day that Aubree and Mia come to visit. I go to meet Chris at a park-n-ride by the interstate and pick them up and he goes on across town to work. As we travel the few miles back to our house they are both chatterboxes. They catch me up on what they have done since I saw them last.

This morning Aubree asked me if I would make Lammie (her battered stuffed toy from her infancy) a "Club House Quilt". I asked her to tell me what a Club House Quilt was and she started describing a house with windows. Then she said, "Wait! I'll draw you 'strushions." So when we got home she drew me what she wanted....
So I went to the scrap pile and this was the end result....
She announced it to be Perfect!!
What more can a MeMe ask for!!

March UFO

OK. I still haven't found the missing UFO, so I substituted one that wasn't on the list.
As long as another one has been completed, I'm happy. Well, I'm not happy that I can't find the other one, but I'm sure it will turn up sometime. This is to connect with Judy's 2011 UFO Challenge

This is a quilt that I had about halfway done for my mother for her Christmas present two years ago.....then she died the last of that October. It was a hurdle for me to complete it with the emotional baggage it carried with it.....so it is good that it is finished.

I made it with my mom's house in mind. So when my sister came up this weekend (it is her house now) I gave it to her. It belongs there.

WHAT A MONTH.....

Jeepers!

Just a brief recap of our month around here.....

- Had a wonderful birthday party with my whole family. I chose Pizza Hut so the kids could be themselves. It was wonderful.......until the very end.....when my husband made the announcement that he had gotten laid off that afternoon. EEEEEEEKK!!!











- Pondered life coming to a flying whoa. Rick is seriously considering semi-retiring by getting a part-time job with benefits so we have health coverage and living on a pittance. OK....I can live with that, I've been poor before. Industrial Engineering jobs are scarce around here and we really don't want to move...and really, there aren't that many jobs for him elsewhere. Way too much manufacturing has moved away from the USA. We will be ok, the Lord will provide for our needs....we have to adjust to what defines the difference between "needs" and "wants".
- Had my siblings and spouses up for a Family Ramp Feast. It was delicious. For those unfamiliar with Ramps you can check it out here. We ate like piggys!

Brown beans and cornbread. Also apple butter, sassafras iced tea, and a delicious dessert made by my sister -in-law. Mmmmmm.






- I finished a UFO, albeit one that wasn't on the list.....I had to substitute since I can't find the project in all the mess (see prior post). But a UFO completed nonetheless.
- I've been sick for over a week with the usual Spring Sinus Infection. Ugh. I finally began to feel better yesterday.

I'll be showing my UFO in a separate post to connect with Judy.
