Jeepers!
Just a brief recap of our month around here.....
- Had a wonderful birthday party with my whole family. I chose Pizza Hut so the kids could be themselves. It was wonderful.......until the very end.....when my husband made the announcement that he had gotten laid off that afternoon. EEEEEEEKK!!!
- Pondered life coming to a flying whoa. Rick is seriously considering semi-retiring by getting a part-time job with benefits so we have health coverage and living on a pittance. OK....I can live with that, I've been poor before. Industrial Engineering jobs are scarce around here and we really don't want to move...and really, there aren't that many jobs for him elsewhere. Way too much manufacturing has moved away from the USA. We will be ok, the Lord will provide for our needs....we have to adjust to what defines the difference between "needs" and "wants".
- Had my siblings and spouses up for a Family Ramp Feast. It was delicious. For those unfamiliar with Ramps you can check it out here. We ate like piggys!
Fried potatoes and ramps
Ramps fried in bacon grease, bacon, plain fried potatoes
Brown beans and cornbread. Also apple butter, sassafras iced tea, and a delicious dessert made by my sister -in-law. Mmmmmm.
- I finished a UFO, albeit one that wasn't on the list.....I had to substitute since I can't find the project in all the mess (see prior post). But a UFO completed nonetheless.
- I've been sick for over a week with the usual Spring Sinus Infection. Ugh. I finally began to feel better yesterday.

all the food looks yummy. I have not had ramps in YRS! I am sorry about hubby getting laid off, but another door of some sort could come open. I will keep you in my prayers.
Its been seven weeks for us with out a job but things are looking up we'll find out for sure on Monday .If its ok with you and DH wants to why not take early retirement.The Lord doesn't give us more then we can handle .he just wants us to work at a solution for a while .
